Zin Zin’s Burmese Cuisine
Upon immigrating to the United States from Burma nearly a decade ago, Zin Zin Htun found solace in the kitchen as she yearned for the tastes of home. Drawing from the culinary skills instilled by her mother, she began crafting traditional Burmese and Malaysian recipes with meticulous care.
In 2015, Zin Zin embarked on a culinary adventure by organizing small pop-up events called Burmese Village Dinners. These intimate gatherings showcased five-course meals infused with Burmese culture, captivating attendees and sparking a demand for her catering services.
Recognizing the opportunity to introduce Denver to the flavors of Burma, Zin Zin ventured to open the city’s first Burmese restaurant, Zin Zin’s Burmese Cuisine. With over 10,000 Burmese immigrants in Colorado, she saw the potential to create a business that would not only cater to the local community but also introduce others to her country’s rich culinary heritage.
Starting with catering services and selling snacks at farmers’ markets, Zin Zin diligently built her brand over the years. Now, after three years of catering success, she is poised to elevate her business by leasing a Cloud Kitchen space to launch food deliveries—a stepping stone towards her ultimate goal of opening her own restaurant in the near future.
