Walking by Faith Learning Center
Growing up in Denver, Sabrina Harris was inspired by her grandmother, who ran a successful in-home daycare where Sabrina often helped care for children. This early exposure ignited Sabrina’s passion for childcare and planted the seed for her dream of opening her own daycare center one day. Determined to turn this dream into reality, Sabrina pursued her Director’s License in Early Childhood Education—a challenging program that equipped her with the expertise to lead a large childcare center.
In 2023, Sabrina partnered with CEDS Finance to secure essential funding for startup costs and working capital, which allowed her to launch Walking by Faith Learning Center. Located in the Montbello and Green Valley Ranch neighborhoods—areas with limited childcare options—Walking by Faith opened its doors in January 2024.
Sabrina’s center welcomes children from 12 months to five years old, and her philosophy centers on spreading love, peace, and equal learning opportunities. “Being able to open my doors to families that need childcare is important to me and my community,” Sabrina shared. “Montbello is a daycare desert, and it means a lot to support families here.”
CEDS Finance served as the first rung on Sabrina’s capital ladder, helping her access the funding necessary to make her dream a reality. Now, she’s focused on expanding her center to serve even more families by adding new classrooms.
“What inspired me to start my business was witnessing my grandmother operate her in-home childcare business for over a decade,” Sabrina reflected. “That experience drove me to pursue a career in early childhood education, and now I get to watch children grow, meet milestones, and support the community I love.”
Through her hard work and support from CEDS Finance, Sabrina Harris is making a lasting impact on her neighborhood, helping children thrive and families find quality care in a place that needed it most.
