Aurora, CO – CEDS Finance is pleased to announce that Jeremy Harkey has been named Chair of the Board of Directors. Jeremy is Managing Director of Groundswell Ventures, an impact investing firm. His background includes refugee protection work with the UN Refugee Agency, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Jeremy said “I am excited to assume the role of Board chair. CEDS Finance is in an exciting period of growth entering 2019. I know from my work around the world how important it is for refugees, immigrants, and other populations to be able to deepen their roots and realize their dreams through building businesses; the Metro Denver area is no different.”
In 2018, CEDS Finance helped 92 entrepreneurs develop and launch their businesses. These business owners, located in the Metro area from Greeley to Aurora, received $1,530,676 in loans from CEDS.
Resigning Board Chair, Paul Stein, was one of CEDS’ Co-Founders and has served as Board Member and Interim Executive Director at various point in CEDS’ growth. To the pleasure of CEDS Finance’s staff and the other Board Members, Mr. Stein will remain as a member of the Board.
