Alexandria Wise is the Executive Director of CEDS –Community Enterprise Development Services – a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the financial self-sufficiency of refugees, immigrants, and low to moderate income individuals who seek to grow their businesses, develop assets, and empower themselves financially. Alex brings a wealth of skills and experience to this positions over her 12 years work experience. She was a strategy consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton specializing in tax strategy and process reform before she transitioned into international development where she focused on business and economic development. She’s consulted small business and cooperatives in Mongolia and South Sudan, started up a housing rehabilitation program in Afghanistan, and analyzed business accelerators in Tunisia & Jordan. She received a Master of International Business from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Tufts University) where she focused on emerging market finance. Following graduate school, she worked at a Mongolian investment bank, developed and propagated for-profit business models to solve issues faced by India’s poor, and most recently was the Associate Director of a Somali impact investment brokerage, where she led the placement of nearly $6 million of investment capital into 75 business.
